"ESCAPE THE NOISE"
[[VIDEOID:cb35a596c0982a77ba94ef95d30563e9]] "TUNE OUT THE WORLD, FOR $70" Noise cancelling that works at a very reasonable price! Give BOSE credit for a great idea but the "concept" is well out of the barn! These phones sound great, are very comfortable to wear, 30 hour play time and if you do manage to run down the batt. just plug them in to the wired input to connect the phones to the player and keep listening.
As I tried to quickly discuss in the video the fit and comfort of these phones will vary with different size and shape heads so you'll just have to try them on. (think shoes) As far as sound, I am a retired professional studio musician, trumpet player, and I've used headphones that would sell for around $5,000 at today's prices, so let's not go crazy comparing apples & oranges! At $70 these are a great deal and you should be satisfied with the sound and comfort at this price. It's worth the extra $10 to buy these, with the noise cancelling feature, for 2 reasons. The noise cancel works very well, plus you get the choice of 2 E.Q. settings when you switch from B.T. to N.C. As HAWAIIANS would say, "CHANCE UM"!! Product received for professional evaluation. OH, one more thing, I failed to mention if you get too far from the transmitter and start to lose the signal make sure to turn you head so the receiver (in the ear piece with the volume and on and off button) is facing in the direction of the signal. Any B.T. device with two separate pieces will have the receiver in one piece and the batt. in the other.

Excellent in both performance and value
My family is planning a trip abroad that will involve at least twenty six hours inside a plane . To make plane travel a bit easier, I decided to check out some reasonably priced over the ear headphones with active noise cancellation. Loyal to a good brand, I searched Amazon and found the Cowin E-7. Other products from COWIN have been good so my expectations were high.
From the time of order, the E-7 was in my hands within a few hours, huge thanks to Amazon Prime. This was one of the few times when my Amazon order was delivered within the same day.
Packaging was professional. The black box with a drawing of the E7 looked simple yet sophisticated. Removing the top cover revealed the leather-like pouch that can be used to store and transport the headphones. Underneath the pouch was the precious cargo in its own foam cutout. Another cutout was also present containing the auxiliary and charging cables. Underneath the foam were the thank you card and the user guide.

While the headphones were charging, I went through the user guide to familiarize myself with the product. The manual was easy to follow with helpful diagrams showing the locations of different buttons, ports and their functionalities. Pairing instructions, LED status indicators, battery charging and product care instructions were included.
After about two hours, the E-7 was fully charged. Pairing with an iPhone 7 Plus was super simple. I moved the sliding switch to BT, tapped E7 on the phone and after a tone, pairing was complete.
The Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) test was first. With the sliding switch set to NC and windows down on my car, I drove my son to his swimming class. I removed the headphones and put them on multiple times to determine the amount of noise that was cancelled. It was considerable. The ANC test continued when we reached the venue, an indoor facility with five different pools. The place was very noisy with kids screaming, water splashing, people talking and the building heating system running. I wore and removed the E-7 multiple times and was able to confidently conclude that at least ¾ of the noise was cancelled. I was already seeing myself on a plane wearing the E-7.
The ANC test was followed by the Bluetooth range test. I played a song on the phone, left the phone on one wall of the building and walked towards the other end. I reached the other end, over 150 feet away without any obstruction, and the music never stuttered. I repeated the test three times and the results were consistent. Of all the Bluetooth headphones and earbuds I’ve tested, the E-7 had the best range.
Still inside the swimming venue, I tested the phone call functionality by calling the last number dialed on my phone. My friend and I were able to hear each other clearly.
The swimming lesson ended. My son and I returned home where I conducted the sound quality test. Equalizer was enabled on my phone and set to acoustic. The E-7 was connected to my phone via Bluetooth. The first track played was a live recording of a basso vocalist accompanied with two acoustic guitars, a flute and a clarinet. One of the guitars was heard on the left channel and the other, on the right. Both sounded beautifully. When the vocals started, I had a big smile on my face. The basso vocals were smooth and soothing. When the flute joined on the left channel followed by the clarinet on the right, the confluence of all instruments and the vocals was magnificent. Both flute and clarinet sounded sweet. The highest frequencies produced by one of the acoustic guitars on the right channel were crisp and sharp. I was very satisfied though I have heard sharper highs from other headphones. The overall listening experience was very enjoyable and I repeated it a few times.
The next track played was arranged to utilize more bass guitar. Bass that would normally be “punchy” with other sets was “boomy” with the E-7, which I absolutely loved. I repeated playing the track three times and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. COWIN’s E-7 passed the audio quality test with flying colors.
Weighing a mere 10.1 ounces, the E-7 is comfortable to wear. The cups fit my ear perfectly and are very soft. The leatherette on the band improves the wearing comfort. Usage of metal in strategic areas results in a sturdy construction while the use of plastic in other areas help keep the E-7 light. The only minor complaint I have with the materials used is their ability to attract fingerprints.
Usage of COWIN’s E-7 is easy. At the bottom of the right cup is a sliding switch. From the OFF position, slide the switch to the BT position to turn it on. Sliding the switch to the NC position enables active noise cancellation. A silver metal piece on the outer part of the right cup contains three buttons. The button that is shaped like a reversed arrow is used for making a phone call, ending a phone call, rejecting a phone call, pausing playback and resuming playback. The + and – buttons are multi-function buttons. Press the + button to play the next track. Press and hold the + button to increase the volume. When maximum volume is reached, a tone is heard. Similarly, press the – button to play the previous track. Press and hold the – button to reduce the volume.
Implementation of ANC with the E-7 is good. Other ANC headphones I’ve tested produce a high-pitched sound when ANC is enabled. The sound eventually disappears but it gives me discomfort. The aforementioned sound is not present on the E-7, a huge plus in my book.
COWIN’s E-7 Bluetooth headphones with active noise cancellation delivers a lot of features for only $70. Its sturdy construction ensures long-term use. High quality audio reproduction let’s you enjoy music without the noise of the outside world. Relax with the E-7 when riding a plane and use it to be more productive at the office or at home.
The E-7 is a highly recommended purchase for only $70. Its combination of value and quality easily earns this set 5 out of 5 stars in my review.

Quiet down your open office
By Boston Kris
Look, I can't compare these to Bose, because I've never tried them before - or any other $300 pair of headphones. However, these are fantastic for me. I work in an open office environment and sometimes the level of noise spikes from ambient to distracting to intolerable (you know how there's always that one person in the office louder than everybody else? I sit next to five of them). The very first day, my colleague and I looked at each other and nodded, it's time for noise cancelling headphones - so I did some research, read some reviews, and bought two Cowin E-7's for us.
Having never tried active noise cancelling before, I have to say I'm impressed (my coworker didn't like it, as the noise cancelling made her feel queasy, but that's not Cowin-specific, just the technology in general doesn't agree with her). For me, it puts a strong damper on the background noise. Now if people are talk-yelling loudly, of course I can still hear them, which is great because if someone yells FIRE! I'd like to know about it. But I'm streaming my Boston sports radio and my Pearl Jam and clacking away while my noisy keyboard to get some revenge to those who don't have noise-cancelling headphones like these.
Two quick notes which I hope are helpful. 1.) When using it for Skype (the mic works great by the way) or GoToMeeting, Wiindows 10 might identify it as a communications device rather than the proper stereo headphones. I almost returned these because the sound was so scratchy, especially on music. Thankfully I read another reviewer's comment who identified the issue and how to solve it - it's a Windows thing - you just have to right-click your speaker icon, go to Playback Devices, and make sure the Stereo listing of the E-7 is the default device and the default communications device. Then you'll get the full benefit and the excellent sound quality these headphones provide.
The second is, if you're like my coworker and don't want noise-cancelling - and buy noise-cancelling headphones for some reason, even though there is a standard pair $10 cheaper right next to it - it's an optional feature you can switch on or off as needed. Sometimes I'll turn it off if it's not noisy in the office, and it still sounds great. Like other headphones with this technology, they can be a bit bulky, but actually they are light and quite comfortable for long use.
So overall, I am very happy with this purchase and don't have any negatives to say about it. Do they compare to the more expensive brands? I can't really answer that, but I also can't imagine those brands being so much better that they justify the cost. These work, and they sound great. That's all I need!
