5Ultrafast, Pixel pushing display
By Joey P.
EDIT: I changed the response time settings in the OSD from Ultrafast (which is the max setting btw) to 1 step down to Advanced, Mainly because i observed reverse ghosting artifacts especially when moving windowed folders in the desktop of Windows. You can clearly see a trail of shadows left if the response time settings is set on Ultrafast. Dialing it back down to Advanced fixed the reverse ghosting effect. Also I changed the Bluelight Filter setting to 80 (default is 100) in the manual image adjust OSD menu to give the screen a nuanced warm tone to help alleviate my eyes from too much strain since I usually dim my room and game and browse at least 6-8 hrs a day. These changed settings helped a great deal and i'm loving the monitor even more.

ORIGINAL:Purchased this a week ago. TBH this is my first 144hz monitor. I owned a Benq 24in but that was only running at standard refresh albeit a faster gtg of 1ms since it was TN, just like this monitor.

My settings were: color: usercolor (left all at 100 R,G,B) viewmode: normal, response time: advanced, low input lag: ultrafast, brightness 35, contrast 55, sharpness 75, black stabilization 5, smartsync off, amd freesync off, advanced dcr 0, dynamic contract unchecked, ecomode standard, bluelight filter 100 (this is default- its supposed to be 0 but the OSD writes it as 100, when you move it to lower values then bluelight filter is gonna be used. essentially 100 means its Off. Weird right?!)

I connected this monitor to drive my Asus G751JY via mini displayport/thunderbolt port to full size DP in the monitor to support the max refresh of 144hz. I was really curious how it would play since most games I run on my laptop is able to exceed 60fps and would very much benefit this monitor's hz. True enough, I wasn't disappointed. I now wished I could have gone with the much powerful GT80 titan dual 980m during that time but that one would further cost me my other arm *sigh*.

I played witcher 3, far cry 4, crysis 3, dota 2, metro last light, bioshock infinite, middle earth SOM, madmax and this monitor makes those games run smoother. I can objectively observe that even if the FPS say for example Witcher 3 on my laptops native ips display is running 50 and obviously it runs 50 too on the monitor but somehow it made the experience much smoother and quite faster. Maybe (well highly likely) that the gtg response time of 1ms coupled with the very fast 144hz made the experience faster in my eyes. It's like the monitor is somehow cheating and giving my laptop an extra kick in horsepower wherein reality its just displaying the exact amount of FPS on the laptops display. Frankly, i didn't expect that to happen and I was relatively surprised of the monitors ability to provide me the perceived smoothness in game. Further, I have yet to try the freesync feature since obviously my laptop is running an nvidia 980m. I'll update this review once I get my hands on one.

For the price I paid of $383 plus taxes vs msrp of $459 it is certainly a must buy! comparing prices to similar products and seeing this monitor was just recently launched in Jan. 2016. It incorporates the newest technologies of a TN panel might have and oh boy don't get me started on the ports. It has 2 usb 3.0 and another 2 usb 2.0 hows that for good measure? 2 HDMIs and 2 Displayport (1 is mini btw) and a 3.5mm audiojack. Viewsonic really thought of everything. Stand is able to swivel, pivot, rotate with height adjust. cable organizer and a little headphone hanger at the rear. All that's left is the kitchen sink.

100%!

5I couldn't be more pleased in my choice of these monitors
By Wolfsblood2012
I spent a couple weeks looking through various monitors before finally deciding on these. I've included images from my previous setup of a 24" LG LED and 2 LG 22" LEDs versus 2 27" ViewSonic VX2757-MHDs. This review will be lengthy so I will include a TL;DR at the bottom.

I am an avid gamer and also do instructional design work that requires quite a bit of time working at home. My games include Fallout 4, Witcher 3, any Civilization I can find, Dragon Age, the Mass Effect trilogy, and several other graphics heavy games. Instructional design requires quite a bit of work with photos and images as well as needing to be precise in layouts and contrasts. I demand quite a bit from my rig and needed to upgrade the monitors to match. Compared to my previous setup, I couldn't be more pleased in my choice of these monitors, even having them for only 10 hours at the time of this post.

I have my primary connected via display port in order to take advantage of AMD's FreeSync and have seen a huge improvement in my gaming. I will post my rig's specs below. Witcher plays on Ultra graphics with absolutely no lag even when surrounded by enemies in a big fight. I used to suffer from screen tearing but that is now a thing of the past. Running Fallout 4 is like having a brand new game, especially during the night when the black stabilization kicks in and lets me see into the shadows far better than I had been able to before. For anyone looking for their first FreeSync capable monitor, I would HUGELY recommend picking this up.

For non-gaming, the monitor has also been a big step up in design and general entertainment. I am currently watching Ender's Game while I type this out and can't believe that the image I am watching is better than the 60" Vizio 1080p I have out in the living room. Colors are rich and clear, no ghosting to speak of even in the most hectic sequences, and paired with AMD's Radeon cinema settings there is no comparison for movie watching. I have also connected both monitors to my work laptop (do not ask for specs, it is shameful) with outstanding results. The company I write for uses 80" displays in our classrooms and having these two monitors allows me to truly understand what our students will see when my training is presented to them. I have spent time with both PowerPoint (c'mon, you know it is the lifeblood of corporations) and Articulate Storyline on these monitors and have a hard time knowing I will have to be back in the office on Monday using far worse equipment.

The setup of these monitors was extremely easy. Packaging is well thought out and there was none of the tugging and pulling to remove the monitors from their packaging that we have all experienced in the past. This is a 27" monitor so there is a little wobble on them if you are pounding down on your desk but this should be expected. If you don't want the wobble, spend a bit more and get a secured mount. Once I had these cabled up, one with display port the other HDMI, both monitors were immediately recognized and the picture was washed out. Basic brightness and contrast are set extremely high when they come out of the box, press a couple buttons and you will have that taken care of quick. As a couple other comments have stated, the buttons are located on the rear of the display on the lower right corner. They are a slight pain to deal with but you will get through it. Within 20 minutes I had both the monitors' settings and my graphics card settings done and perfect images on both.

TL;DR
Buy these monitors, period. Without going to the $400+ range for displays, you will not find a better mix of response and quality.

I will update in a few weeks after more time spent.

5From "oh no!" to "oh wow!!" in 60 minutes....
By Bob H. Grant
Received my ViewSonic VX2452MH 24-inch monitor today and after initially being disappointed and concerned, I have to say that I love the display. Few things to point out. 1- The stand feels a bit flimsy so be careful with it. 2- I purchased the AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable to go with the monitor since my Dell Studio XPS PC had an HDMI output. This is where I was disappointed. Once I had everything plugged in, I couldn't get the screen resolution right. The text was not sharp. It was kinda fuzzy no matter what website I was on. The desktop would not fill the whole screen even after playing with the screen settings and installing the correct drivers from the CD that came with it. "Game Mode" setting did not help at all. It just adjusted the brightness, contrast and colorization. I was so bummed out that I nearly packed the monitor back up to prepare for a return and refund. I tried one last thing before boxing it up. I hooked up the DVI cable that came with the monitor instead of the HDMI. That's how the old monitor was hooked up so I gave it a shot. I removed the HDMI and then plugged in the DVI cable. HOLY COW what a difference!! The desktop filled the entire screen and everything looked nice and sharp. No fuzz. What a relief! So in case you have a similar problem with the HDMI hooked up, try the DVI cable instead. Very satisfied with the outcome. This monitor is excellent now. Very nice.
